Hi all,
I have a three week old VPCL22S1E all in one.
The fan runs constantly even when the pc is shut down. Although still conected to power supply.
The HDMI and VIDEO lights also blink alternatley.
Anyone have any suggestions, especially the fan.
Thanks

Does your model have a HDMI input function that works without the OS being booted up?
If so try turning off the HDMI-in. This can turn on a fan if it is on.
If this does not fix it I would contact Vaio Support, or the shop you bought it from, as a repair may be needed.
This is weird. Have you tried leaving it shut down for a while and see how long will the fan stays on? It might be possible that it is slowing down little by little.
I have, it runs constantly when connected to power supply. this is irrespective
of screen input selected whether anything is connected to usb or not.
And indeed whether the PC is on, hibernating or shut down.
hi
try shutting down any background tasks from the toolbar. my vaios fan did the same and i shutdown vaio analysis and other non essential programmes. worked for me.
Blencogo, thanks a lot.
Turned HDMI to auto off power saving mode and voila.
sorted.
I bet that's a relief!
I have the same problem - where did you turn the HDMI to auto off? I can't find that setting anywhere
Found it - sorted - thank you!
