I have a Matshita DVD-RAM UJ850S optical drive, in a VGN FE31-M, and I think that it is not functioning anymore. Yesterday I burned 2 DVD's, that went all ok, then I tried to burn a third one, but then a scratchy sound came from de drive, and all my burning failed. I use Nero 7.8.5.0 for burning.
Now, the drive doesn't even read my cd's/dvd's. Windows is saying that the drive is working correctly... When I try to burn anything, nero says I must insert a cd/dvd, I do so, but Nero keeps saying that I need to enter a disk.
I have uninstalled the DVD-RAM drive, en then booted up again, but the drive still isn't reading cd/dvd's and windows keeps saying that the drive works correct.
The laptop is 3 months old.
Have you guys got any suggestions on what to do?
