Hi 1971kl,

welcome to Club Vaio..

Did you use the Vaio recovery utility to restore your Vaio..?

What model vaio do you have and are you running XP or Vista..?

Hi 1971kl

Try this..

Open this Skype web link HERE , once loaded click on the Download Skype link.

When the download window appear click the save button and save the file to My Documents or similar..

Once the file has been downloaded browse to the Skype.exe set-up file in My Documents and double click to start the installation..

Hopefully Skype should install..

Hi 1971kl

Try Emptying the Temp & Temporary Internet folders, you can do this by using the Disk Cleanup tool.

I'm presuming your using XP??

Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup.

In the new window ensure C: is selected and then click OK.

Once calculating has completed select the Temporary files & Temporary Internet files check boxes, then OK and then click Yes to confirm the deletion.

Also it may be worth checking that the application names do not appear in Add & Remove programs

Click Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
