Bluetooth wizard causes loss of volume control

Hi, I registered because of a recent problem. Bought a bluetooth dongle to connect my bt phone and clie to my vaio grt915m. Managed to get everything going after updating from microsoft drivers to widcomm drivers, run bluetooth wizard, and then after having run the wizard, my hotkey volume control (Fn+F4, and volume button on touchpad) doesn't work anymore. Windows volume control still works. The hotkey volume indicator also still appears on screen, but doesn't affect the volume anymore. Seems disconected. After uninstalling bluetooth everything works again. Have tried this several times with 2 different dongles: always the same result. Any ideas how to solve this problem. Have posted my problem with e-support a week ago, still no reply. Let's see if this works quicker.

Dear Pajm63,
I had the same thing happening on my A215M. I am using a Acer bluetooth dongle. I do not know exactly how, but I do not have this problem anymore. I tried to choose other coms for the bluetooth dongle and I am almost sure this was the solution. Sorry for a no more detailed answer. Markus

Thanks Markus,
I've in the mean time spoken to vaio customer support and I think I'm going to return my bluetooth dongle and buy a sony dongle (allthough appr. 3x more expensive) they use a different software and will hopefully not disconnect the dedicated volume buttons/keys. If they do however I'll try the com-port option. In the mean time if anybody has other ideas please add them. PS1 I upgraded from XP home to XP Pro and have sp2 installed, PS2 reinstalling the original utilities (as suggested by the vaio customer support) didn't work. Paul
