umm well last week i restarted my laptop and well ever since i did that restart the active recovery desktop keeps comin up every time i restart , as my bakground ...can someone tell me how to get rid of it

Yeah it was.

Spoke to a friend last night and he said that the actual desktop is "active desktop", and something drastic must have happened for it to go off like that in XP, it was new to him

I think you may have possibly right clicked on a web page and clicked 'Set as Desktop Item' by mistake...:smileyhappy:

Hi Bianca,

The solution I posted ealier should turn off Active Desktop...

Try Start > Conrtrol Panel > Appearance and Themes > Display..

Click the themes tab and select Windows XP from the drop down list, click apply...
