3 Major Questions on my VGF-AP1L

Overall I am very pleased with this little player and the G pad works much better than I was expecting. However the following 3 things I think really need to be addressed in the next firmware upgrade

1. Gaps between tracks. This is destroying some of the mix cds and continuous type cds where there should be no gap between the tracks. Please Please fix this fast

2. Now that Sony have allowed mp3's to be played how do I transfer to my Vaio without converting? The Vaio music transfer still seems to be converting the file before transferring?

3. The volume is a little on the low side and could do with being able to notch it up a little further. Surely this can be fixed too? Perhaps I'm going deaf but it's the customers who should be able to decide how loud things go.

If anyone could shed any light on these I would love to know?

Same problems on the ipod, it's an annoyance!

Same again with the iPod, this is due to a law in France that says audio equipment shouldn't be over a certain level...

It is the same in the United Kingdom - by law Sony write a disclaimer on Sony Headphones... I'm sure Sony are not the only ones...

Yep that's health and safety, it covers all manufacturers. I suppose Sony could have set it a bit lower than the max they are allowed but I don't see why they would.

In defence of Ipod owners there is software that removes the European volume limit (intended for France:smileycry: )

Alternatively buy a USA model like I did.

As far as I'm aware Sony have yet to announce support for native mp3 playback on this device. Support for mp3 by Sony is grudging, limited, and may never become available for certain devices.

I have heard you will only be able to do it in SS3 anyway....

Do you mean that Sonic Stage 3 will allow me to check out unlimited times back from the vaio to my pc without having the tunes on my PC. There was a restriction on this on my mini disk but this would make things so much better.

I hope my earlier 3 points will be addressed soon as it seems that any Sony testers out there weren't real music enthusiasts!!

Thanks for your help guys

I have heard there's going to be unlimited check outs, but not sure if it's just ATRAC
