battery problem

in my notebook vaio VGNSZ5MN with VISTA BUSINESS AND FEW OTHER PROGRAMS, i recharge the battery up to 100 %, then i switch off for 3-4 days, when i reopen the computer the battery show a charge value of about 50 %. Is this a fault battery ? the notebook have only 3 months life, tanks to all answers

Hi luigi and welcome to Club Vaio.

It doesn't sound right. It will discharge slowly but not that much.

Check that you are shutting the Vaio down completely - the default in Vista is 'Sleep' which uses up battery. Make sure you use 'Shut Down'.

Make sure you have nothing configured in Task Scheduler that could wake your Vaio (things like tvtv can try to update their schedules automatically).

If it continues to discharge, phone Sony Vaio-Link Support for assistance.
