KDL-32W5810 - no picture, no control, just very loud

Sony Bravia KDL32W5810 worked fine last night, turned it on today and there was no picture, just very loud sound and no control e.g. will not change channel, change channel, turn off even(!), etc via either the remote control or the buttons on the side. I am having to turn the supply off to turn it off!
I have checked all the cables to the PS3 etc. but cannot see anything wrong.

I have seen on other forums this logged as a fault for this model but do not know what the official Sony response is to resolve this issue.

I think you'll need to speak to Sony Support 0844 8466 555 and be prepared to take the TV to a Sony Service Centre.  See http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/repair

I have exactly the same problem at the moment. Just turned it on this morning and wont work.

Did you manage to get this fault repaired if so ccan you let me know what the approximate cost was for this repair
