lol. that's a long post.. to think it took you 2 years before you try to find out what's wrong with it. I'll try to aswer as much as i can.

It can happen because of the apps that you installed. Especially since some apps monitors SMS, notification, etc. The fact that repairing the phone fixes that issue shows exactly just that.

This is a typical internet issue. It's difficult to say if the issue is with the phone or the internet at that particular time. Too narrow down the issue, you would need to surf the same site on a different phone or pc/laptop connected to the same wi-fi at the same time.

When a storage or memory says it has 32GB, it actually means 32GB unused, unformatted space. But to be able to use it, you will need a file system like FAT, NTFS, etc. This storage format will take additional space and display a different available space based on it's own calculations. That's you the actual space you have is always lesser that the indicated size.

Firstly, if I'm not wrong, the Xperia S only have 1GB memory. The 32GB is your internal DCard. The memory determines how many apps, including your Android system can run in the back ground while the SD Cards is used as your storage space for data including apps data, photos, music, and what not. Just because there's 100,000 apps in the Google Store, doesn't mean that you will need all of them. like how there are thousands of applications for the PC and you only need a few of them. You don't go and buy every single games in the shop and install it on your PC do u?

The default USB connectivity settings is MTP( Media Transfer Mode). MTP is developed by Microsft, the same people who created your windows OS. And this would be the main issue you are facing here. MTP does not support parallelism, unlike normal USB Mass Storage mode, hence it will take longer to transfer large files. This especially is more obvious when transfering movies. If you need to transfer large amount of files, I suggest you connect the phone in USB Mass Storage Mode instead.and you will notice a huge different.
