Customising text notifications

This must be simple .... but it's beyond me at the moment!  I want to customise the text message notification for a specific contact, i.e. all my twitter notifications to be different from my other text notifications.  I have found how to change my ringtone for phone calls, but not for texts.  Can anyone help please?
