One of the key features of the Sony PS-HX500 turntable is its ability to rip your vinyl records into stunning High-Resolution Audio files by using the free 'Hi-Res Audio Recorder' software. In the video below, we show you just how simple the ripping process is, so you can enjoy the authentic sound of vinyl wherever you are in no time at all.

I have a sony turntable from 1983, a PS-FL1 which still gives good service, and i use to rip my cd's to a digital store player, a hifidelio. the brilliant thing about this turntable is it is a draw turntable, like a dvd player, so it doesnt need access from above, and can live in the cupboard under the other hifi units. amazingly it still works perfectly after 33 years.

According with some audio software developers, their benchmark tests revealed the format wav 192kHz/32bit float is actually the highest quality digital audio format and in second place comes the DSD 5.6 MHz. With this in mind, I rip my vinyls in DSD 5.6MHz format and then I convert the dsf file in wav 192kHz/32bit float with TEAC/TASCAM Hi-Res Editor (free). Then you can play around with a good audio editor, eg. Adobe Audio 3.0 (free) wav 192kHz/32bit float capable, to convert in any audio format you want.
