No surround sound when component is connected via the tv?
I got a
Sony 40" LCD-TV
KDL40EX500AEP
And just go the DAVTZ 230 home cinema theater.
And I can't get the sound to work when connecting a component via hdmi directly to the tv. I've tried with both pc and a WD TV Live mediaplayer.
The home cinema and the tv is connected both via scart (euro av) and hdmi, and the home cinema is set to tv, and the surround sound works fine when just watching tv or playing a dvd via the home cinema system.
Any suggestions on how to get it to work?
The tv got a ARC hdmi, so I wondered if I connected the cinema system to the tv with a hdmi 1.4 which supports audio return channel, if that might work.
Or maybe if i used a hdmi switch and thereby got another hdmi port to the home cinema system, and connected another component directly to the home cinema system?
Please help

DAV-TZ230 is not equiped with ARC. Since DAV-TZ230 does not have any other digital in there is no way to get multichannel from an external source. You can always use the PRO LOGIC II function in the Home Theater system so you will be able to listen to the stereo sound from all speakers connected.
