Convenient to quickly check image after shooting, used in combination with [Remote] and [Edit] functions.

  1. The result of shooting image can be quickly displayed by working together with [Remote]. File import is not necessary because it can reference folders. It also enables you to check the shooting image by using grid and guides.
  2. Shows image data such as RAW and JPEG in list display. In [Edit] you can select images to develop RAW file.
  3. Rating information can be transformed to XMP*(Adobe compatible), therefore can be transferred to Adobe Bridge and Photoshop.

Edit: RAW Development download_pct_03.png

RAW development application achieves high quality developed image.

  • You can adjust aspects of the image such as brightness, color, and white balance.
  • You can adjust the image quality of ARQ-format images generated by Pixel Shift Multi Shooting and develop them into TIFF, JPEG, or other formats.

Pixel Shift Multi Shooting (Remote, Viewer, and Edit)

This new fature takes advantage of the advanced in-body image stabilization system control capability available in the α7R III, precisely shifting the sensor in 1-pixel increments to capture four pixel-shifted images containing a total of approximately 169.6 million pixels* that are later composited using a computer to achieve overwhelming subjective resolution in a single image.

Still images of subjects such as architecture and art are captured with true-to-life details, texture, and color, to the point that even the atmosphere of the subject and surroundings are reproduced with breathtaking fidelity.

In a "normal" digital capture each pixel represents just one color: red, green, or blue.

The surrounding pixels are used to supply the necessary extra information required to interpolate and reproduce the remaining two primary colors.

Pixel Shift Multi Shooting, however, composites four pixel-shifted images so that each of the sensor’s 42.4 million effective pixels can represent red, green, and blue values simultaneously.

Extra interpolation becomes unnecessary so the data from the sensor can be directly synthesized to recreate the final colors with minimal moire or color artifacts.

The result is unprecedented reproduction accuracy and detail for true-to-life textures.

Images shot using this feature can be processed using the supplied "Imaging Edge (Remote/Viewer/Edit)" software running on a personal computer.

After connecting the camera and the computer via USB, you can use Remote to perform Remote Shooting. You can check the composition, focus, and exposure on the computer screen before you shoot.
download_pct_08.png Combining and browsing the shot images
When you are done shooting, the uncombined RAW images (ARW format) are transferred to the computer. Combined RAW data (ARQ format) is automatically generated on the computer, and you can browse it using Viewer.

The combined image can be developed into the JPEG or TIFF format by adjusting the image quality using Edit.

* The number of effective pixels in the RAW image generated after combination by Imaging Edge (Remote/Viewer/Edit) is approximately 42.4 megapixels (7952 x 5304). This is the number of pixels when the α7R III is used. For details, refer to the support site.
