Pink screen on handycam ?

My DCR HC42E handycam viewing and control screen has changed from natural to a pinkish colour.It has not been used in the wet or damp.I have been informed that the camcorder is now u/s.Is this true? Update.

It has now got a dead black screen, nothing works.Am I wasting my time going any further?

Go for diagnostic in authorised service if factory reset do not help. Batery take out and in once.

Hi, Local comp shop diagnosed worn ribbons from screen to camera. Now fixed but cost a bit.

It could be a few things.

But if the screen has gone off completely then the LCD screen link flex PCB would be a good candidate for repair.
