Thank you for your advice but just removing the battery won't help for the E:62:10 error.

You have to follow the complete procedure as explained in the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S53D3EfDVk0 : switch the camera on, zoom out to the maximum, take the battery out (without switching the camera off), put the battery in, and switch the camera on again. Then the E:62:10 error message disappears and the stabilizer works again. This procedure must be repeated each time you want to use the camera.

The problem with the repair is that most repairers simply change the full optical block, and the cost is then nearly equivalent to the cost of a new camera.
