WF-1000XM3 left earbud battery drains

The left earbud's battery drains while not in use, even while on the case. Both earbuds and case can be fully charged and, if I use them straight away when 100% charged they work fine, but if I let them sit without being used, the battery of the left earbud drains to 0% in <24h. This has been happening almost since the very beginning and now they are only 1 year old. They are updated to what I believe is the latest version (v3.1.2).

I already sent them once to Sony's technical assistance, they kept them for a while and now that they've returned the issue is still there and not solved.

Any idea of what could be going on, or what could be done to solve it?

Many thanks!

Hey Clauni,

I also would recommend resetting them, and try to initialize them once as well:
https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/wf1000xm3/v1/en/contents/TP0002289925.html

But, if the issue still persists, since you've sent it for repair and it came with the same fault, I'd recommend contacting Sony once more since it doesn't look like a ''hardware'' issue, which means that this needs to be looked into.

Cheers.

I think the only option that you have is reset the earbuds

Press each side until Red light Flashes 4 times = Reset done).

Otherwise its off to a service center for Battery Replacement.

Los míos tienen 2 años y pocos meses y ya no carga ni la cargador ni los cascos. Presupuesto de un técnico Sony para repararlos 97 euros! Es decir, tirarlos y comprar unos nuevos. Muy decepcionado.
