Sony A8H sound system / TV speakers?

Hi guys,

Sony A8H connected by eARC to Yamaha A2A receiver. 

The TV keeps reverting to TV speakers but only at turn on, once I set it back to audio system it works and remains stable. This has only started happening a few days ago. Tried a TV android reboot, tried new Ultra HDMI cable but same. 

Any idea what's going on?

Did the TV receive any updates recently?

Last update was a few months ago.

Think this only happens if input set to my Humax TV box and the TV is switched on before the box has booted.

Will do some more testing and update my post.

Have you tried checking under the sound/speaker settings that you have audio system priority set to On?

Yes that's all set. I think it may have something to do with my Freesat box as if I'm in another input or built in tuner then it doesn't happen. 

If I boot up my TV box first then it is also ok and only does it if I'm set to Freesat input and box is powered up after TV is switched on. Maybe it takes that long for my Freesat box to send an audio signal it confuses things. I probs hadn't noticed it before as always been on a different input when TV  sw.

That's interesting, but still glad to hear that you have a workaround that isn't too inconvenient.

Maybe try power cycling that Freesat box in case it IS the one acting up here, but it's not necessary if everything is working now.
