I have got Sony 65W855C TV. I have been using Nvidia Shield TV box and I have been watching satellite channels via HD tuner but I just recently updated my TV andriod system.
Since new updates its free sat has been disabled. I cant watch freesat HD anymore
can someone help me to enable freesat, so I can tune channels on this tv please
regards
I really have not understand the problem that is also mentioned in previous posts.
You mean that you select
Channel setup
Digital setup
Satellite Set-up
Digital Satellite Tuning
Do you want to start Digital Satellite Tuning? YES
Antenna Configuration: Fixed Antenna or DiSEqC: Next
Normal Scan
Satellite 1: ON, Scan Type Full Scan, Service Type: Free Services
You cannot select Free Services?
Or Freesat is something else in your Country?
Thanks for your reply.
The option of "Satellite Set-UP" is disabled, it can click on it.
I will appreciate your help and I could follow rest of steps once tv let me click on this option....
Hi there
The only reason that i can think of that would disable satellite services is that you have YouView enabled? If so, you must disable this.
Cheers
Hi again
See this post from Quinnicus:
I don't know if problem is Country(region) related, but if it "worked" before, it should not be stopped by Sony.
A question - complain about this, must be directly to them.
I cannot understand why there could be an unworking sat tuner inside my TV.
My tv in my country is sold as Analogue, DVB-T's ,DVB-S's and DVB-C.
If one of above suddenly became non working because of a decision by them, I should return to shop I bought as a product of fraud and dishonest company.
I don't know what is your region but I believe calling Sony they will explain why this happened with new firmware
oh yes mate,
Youview services are enabled and how I can get rid of it? I will prefer satellite tuner over yourview
Hi there

Hi Quinnicus
Is it possible to completely uninstall an app like Youview?
For example by the usage of a third party app like Es File Explorer?

Unfortuntely it isnt possible - not without root access anyhow and i dont know anyone who has managed it yet.
Question for you though... If i have EZ File Explorer installed and leave my USB drive plugged in - upon turning the TV on, it auto loads EZ File Explorer. Is there a way to prevent this? Ive heard a couple in the last few days say they get a message popup before it loads.
