Bluetooth Audio on Bravia KD-55X8509C

Bluetooth Audio on Bravia KD-55X8509C

I have a Sony Bravia KD-55X8509C and I have a pair of Sony MDR-1ABT Wireless Bluetooth Headphones and yes you guessed it, they will not connect.

So my question are:

1) When are Sony going to update the Firmware for the 8509C to support Bluetooth audio profiles?

2) How would Sony suggest I get these two Sony products to communicate with each other?

Could someone from Sony explain why the Audio part of the Bluetooth specification was omitted, has it to do with licence costs or something?

Thanks,

Blue-Tooth

Hi there

It has already been suggested to Sony for the relevent BT audio profiles to be added.  Unfortunately that is all i know on that.  Sony generally do not post on these forums, so if you want a direct amswer from them, you will need to contact Sony directly.

In regards to what your options are, please read this thread and the solution:

Thaks for the reply.

Yes, I already know what I need to do to correct Sony's omission. I was just hoping that Sony would get around to updating the Bluetooth profile and try and find an answer as to why they omitted it in the first place.

I shall contact a few Hi-Fi magazines and see if they can get a Journo to ask officially, but I suppose my mistake was buying Sony in the first place.
