Tonight, an upgrade was pushed through to my KD-43X8305C. A message came up:
Unfortunately, the update has stopped.
The TV is now seriously damaged. The Home menu just greys out the screen so I have no internet facilities, no reset options, etc. I have rebooted the set several times to no effect.
Can anyone suggest the best LEGAL approach as Sony Support seems to be a complete waste of space.

Mine has has done the same and I've kept coming back to see if there's been any update from Sony?

My 65XBR850D got the update today and I, too, am seeing a grey screen instead of the home screen. Fortunately the the Inputs button on the remote still works so I can watch regular TV and Fire TV, however, for such expensive TV, this really is a bummer.
This happened in the morning just before leaving for work so I will have to wait until I get back home to further troubleshoot.
