I have a problem with my Sony DSRL A100 camera.
It makes a strange noice when I switch it on and I can hear some pretty high pitch sound coming from inside the camera . It works normally otherwise but the noices are alarming . Did anyone come across something similar ?
Hi, welcome to the Sony Forums
Has the camera always done this, or is it a recent development?
Some noise is normal, as the camera initiates a sensor cleaning routine as part of its power cycling. It can be disconcerting but a high-pitched sound is emitted when this is carried out.
If you feel it is worse or louder than it used to be, it may be malfunctioning; otherwise if it ain't bust, don't fix it
Cheers
Mick
I would check if the noise is also present when no lens is attached and you turn on the cam.
Did you notice some problems with tha Autofocus?
