Alpha 77V firmware update - 64-bit Windows 7

The instructions for performing the update from v1.3 or earlier to the latest v1.4 seem to say that WIndows 7 64-bit is not a suitable OS from which to run the update.  Is this true?  Has anyone dared to try the update from Win7 64-bit?

If I'm reading the instructions correctly, it shows a very poor understanding of what is currently being sold with recent computers.  ALL those I have looked at have had a 64-bit OS installed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi kenmonk and welcome.

You will be fine!  If you look again at the System Requirements: -

Compatible Operating Systems

Windows XP* SP3Windows Vista** SP2Windows 7 SP1

Notes:

• * 64-bit and Starter editions are not supported.
• ** Starter edition is not supported.

64-bit is not supported IN XP ONLY

Starter is not supported in Vista ONLY

Windows 7 64-bit and 32-bit ARE supported  - so you will be OK.

Have any of you an idea about Mac OS 64 bit, because there is also written that it does not work. ?

Hello hewestb - Welcome to the Sony Forums

Could you please let me know exactly which version of the Mac operating system you are using. I am aware that in certain Mac environments, it is possible to boot in 32 bit mode (with certain limitations) so if you give me as much information as you can, I will look into this further for you.
