Hello Sony,
First i will say that I love Sony Xperia 1 series for many of its qualities. Al the models before the xperia 1 mark 6 had many problems. However for the sony Xperia 1 mark 6 many of the problems had been solved.
New improvements and old strengths: Xperia 1 mark 6:
1.New aspect ratio 19.59 is amazing
2. Ltpo 1080p display is amazing
3. Vapor chamber is amazing
4. Software optimization is slightly better.
5. Much better battery life is amazing
6. Design is amazing
7. Side fingerprint sensor, best in the market
8. Microsd support amazing
9. Near stock android is amazing
10. Amazing cameras
11. Flat display is amazing and should be kept.
I will however still not buy it and many people will not and i will state the reasons. However if improved i will definitely buy it and many more will also.
Reasons:
1. Top and bottom bezels are very intrusive and should be removed.
2. As a flagship it should have atleast 6.7 inch display with no top and bottom bezels.
3. Software integration and optimization should be better for further decreasing heating during usage of comonly heavier tasks.
4. Should have atleast 4 years of os support.
These are the main issues to improve for me to buy and most people.
What I love about Sony smartphones is that they are one of the few phones left that don't have a hole in the screen.
The bezel is very slim, which is why I don't understand why this bothers you, because a phone without bezels has several disadvantages:
1. Hard to install tempered glass.
2. Limited possibilities when it comes to a protection case.
3. Removing the bezel requires a hole in the screen, which is annoying to people who don't like it (like myself, that's why I choose Sony).
4. Ghost inputs (accidental zoom) – some or most people have noticed that a phone that is literally only the screen causes people to accidentally zoom while trying to scroll, which makes it unusable with one hand.
5.Bigger roundings on the screen corners, which can be distracting. Sony has the smallest rounding, which is barely noticeable during use. On other phones, the rounding is more pronounced, causing text to disappear in a weird way that can be quite distracting.
I personally think Sony should keep the bezel as is, keep the headphone jack (which I actively use), and focus more on trying to fix the overheating issues. Especially when it comes to tethering, I keep having issues where the phone either overheats or draws too much power, which silently turns off the portable hotspot with the message "Portable Hotspot is temporarily unavailable."
The overheating problem was a major issue with my Xperia 10 IV, which doesn't affect my Xperia 10 VI as much, but with the Xperia 10 VI it introduced the "Portable Hotspot is temporarily unavailable" message, which is a big problem for someone like me who uses it as their only internet connection.
