Authenticated proxy server

I have a Sony Bravia TV (kdl40ex403) and am configuring it for internet use.

I need to use an authenticated proxy server, but under network settings on the TV, I only see fields for proxy server and port - I don't see fields to allow entry of username and password.

Is it possible to use this TV with an authenticated proxy server? If not, any workaround I could use?

I don't think its possible unfortunately. PS3 gives you the option, but not BRAVIA which is a shame.

Would be great if Sony could add as a feature request. Should be straight-forward to implement, I would have thought.

You can do it via your PC.

Download a software called CCProxy on your PC.

Open it and go to Options - Advanced - Cascading

There enter your proxy details and save.

Start the proxy server, and on your TV enter this:

Proxy IP: Your PC:s local IP

Port: 808

So when you need to use the Bravia's internet connection you have to start CCProxy on your PC.

Note: I really think Sony should implent this feature.
