Touch pad left click not working

Can anyone help me rectify a problem I have - my laptop touch pad left click is not working. Right click is fine and attaching a wired mouse it works ok but I would prefer to use the touch pad...Thanks ?

Hi suec2100.

In the majority of cases, this is caused by a hardware fault and may need a repair.

You can try reinstalling the Touchpad driver - I can give you a link if you tell us which Vaio Model you own - to check for a software issue.

Is your Vaio still within warranty?

Sadly my laptop is just out of warranty......not sure if you require the VPCEE3EOE number? I think it is just the basic windows 7 home model....Thanks.

There is an update for the ALPS Driver on the download pages for your model here: -

It is not designed to address this particular problem but it may be worth a try.

I have tried this option but it said I already have the latest download so sadly it hasn't really helped. Thanks for the suggestion though..
