VAIO VGN-CS31S, WIN7 64, HOTKEY

Hi,

I'm from italy and my english is very poor...scuse me.

I've a Vaio VGN-CS31S.

I install windows 7 64bit and after installation my hotkeys don't work.

Searching in this forum I found this solution:

Try reinstalling the following Sony Utilities IN THIS ORDER: -

1. 7UPG_Sony Shared Library

2. 7UPG_Setting Utility Series

3. 7UPG_Vaio Event Service

I make it, and it works only for Fn+ hotkeys, but not for the other

(on the left of the power button there are:

1. Capture

2. Media player controls: play/pause, next song, ect

3. Volume control.

With Vista the keys works and have a light behind when I use them.

Can anyone help me?

I can only suggest you try: -

Vaio Original Function Settings (from Windows 7 downloads)

SFEP Driver (from Originally Installed downloads)

Otherwise I am not sure what to suggest.

Hi Bassista,

were you able to solve the problems with the keys on the left of the power-button?

Or anyone else who can solve the problem?

The solution mentioned before wasn't solving the problem to my computer.

Had the same problem and tried the following and it worked hope it will for you too,

download the following drivers and apps from vaio update site according to your OS:

7UPG_Setting_Utility_Series_5.0u_5.0.0.08060
Sony Shared Library 5.4U - 5.4.0.05200
VAIO Control Center 4.0u - 4.0.0.07280
VAIO Event Service 5.0U - 5.0.0.08040
Pointing Driver Synaptics_11.2A_11.2.1.0 (reupload) (VISTA VERSION WORKS FOR WIN7)
VAIO ORIGINAL FUNCTION SETTINGS 2.0 UPDATE

AFTER INSTALLING ALL OF THE ABOVE RESTART YOUR LAPTOP. for me all the functions to the left of the power button work as before.

PLEASE BACKUP YOUR SYSTEM BEFORE PERFORMING THE ABOVE JUST IN CASE.
