I have the same problem here too, and it happened recently, so I removed my SIM into SIM2 on the tray. It's seems like a common problems with Sony Xperia 1 III 😢. Is it the motherboard problem?

"No SIM card - No service" - UPDATE

Evening all.

I'm having a bit of an issue with my Xperia 1 III.

I've never had a bother with the handset but out of nowhere it's now telling me there is "No SIM card - No service". This has been the case for the last 24h or so.

The SIM/SD tray hadn't been removed or tampered with, and I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary in the time before noticing.

I've tried the usual Restart, Safe Reboot, Remove and Insert SIM as well as reset my network settings but nothing has changed.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Cheers.

*UPDATE*

Having tried the SIM in the secondary slot (SD) it works fine, so the issue is with the dedicated SIM slot (Number 1).

Has anyone experienced the same / managed to get this fixed?

I have the exact same problem. My phone will also see the SIM card and work fine if I use the other sim card tray.

Followed all instructions including a hard reset of the phone to no avail.

I've also resorted to removing my SD card and using the SIM 2 slot.

Tried the hard reset and software update to no avail.
