I have noticed that the lag appears when the screen throttles from 15 to 120Hz. When it's on 120Hz it runs smoothly everywhere. The issue persists in safe mode all the time because (i think) it's running at a lower refresh rate there

Hi,
I'm thinking of returning it and change on something different actually,
but not only because of this Lag situation. In general I dont see much
improvement over my previous 1 V. I had hope that system will be more
smooth and animations better, camera disappointing at the moment, specially
during darker conditions. Also ultra-wide is bad. What is great is battery
life, new form factor but thats it so far.

I have send an email directly to Sony, opened a ticket via Sony's support app asked on XDA forum and posted on reddit too.. https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyXperia/s/VSqDdSDzK3

So far they replied with the usual ( factory reset, phone reset etc. ). I m still in discussion with the support here in my country. I m trying too see if they going to fix this with an update because it's a very obvious bug, also reported from too many people.

At the moment I m adding all the apps that I want to use without any lag inside Game Enhancer app and locking them at 120hz. That way they are running at 120 all the time and no lag appears.

It maybe not the phone that is lagy it could be the you network check the signal if if you are on 5 G switch of 5G and try 4G has much better coverage then 5 G try that . When you are in a area where is bad signal the phone will always try too find the signal and that drains the battery and can make the phone lagy try 4G that should work if not may wait for the next update . Hope that helps you.

For me, the best solution was to install GalaxyMaxHz https://github.com/tribalfs/GalaxyMaxHzPub
You need to grant access via ADB but it works afterwards. Then select Adaptive mode and also select "Keep selected mode on PSM". In "Default refresh rates" select Normal = 60 Hz and Power Saving = 60 Hz. This will help in avoiding the lag.

Setting screenshot attached.

I did but it changes back after a while and always after a restart. With the latest update today they change the minimum refresh rate from 15 to 30 and the stuttering issue remains... less noticeable but still there. I also did a software repair.

That's odd, I'd recommend recording a video showing the glitches happens on your phone when you try to open folders, and contact Sony support, so they can escalate this from their end.
