I am having a recurring problem with contacts on my Xperia J. Quite regularly all the contacts seem to disappear from the phone. I then reimport them from all locations but none are shown in Contacts. However when I receive an SMS message it's shown with the correct contacts details !! Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

Hello,

I have had a similar problem I'm hoping someone can help me with. I switched my phone off for about three hours and when I switched it back on again there was an error message, can't remeber exactly what it said but it was somethign about android. What I did notice was all my contatcs were gone. I checked the filter settings which were fine and then tried to import my contatcs back from the phone memory and SIM and it didn't find any instead it says "No vCard file found, Only.vcf files can be imported" I still have all the text messages and conversations I had received and nothing else seems to have gone wrong. Anyone know what;s happened, Can I get my contacts back?

Thanks

My contacts disappeared in exactly the same way as described above, following an "Android failed" error message. I've spent the last 2 weeks messing about restoring my contacts. The problem I'm left with is that although all the contact photos are showing in Contacts, only some appear in Conversations or on calls. They were all added the same way. I've tried re-adding them. I've tried a phone reboot. I've got the latest version of the software. I've tried a repair.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, I've tried filters. I've selected just my phone contacts, which is where I restored my contacts to.

This morning I've discovered that the contacts that are not showing thier photos are showing as SIM contacts within Conversations.

I'm not sure why this would happen on some contacts or how I would change it.

I did have (as a back-up), but deleted them yesterday..

That has solved the immediate problem and all the contact photos now display.

It doesn't explain why this happened (SIM contacts were filtered out) and why it only happened on certain contacts. My concern is that I'm masking the tell-tale sign of a problem with my phone with this work-around.

And I've lost the belt-and-braces security of a back-up on my SIM, should the phone choose to wipe my Contacts again.

Hi. Im having problems with my internal memory. I have several apps on my phone before and my phone has a free 400-500 internal memory until I installed Spotify. My memory went down to 30 mb so i deleted most of my other downloaded apps and the free memory(internal) became 35mb. So i deleted Spotify, thinking it was the problem. The memory again went down to 34mb. And now I cant download all the apps I removed before because of insufficient storage. And I cant make the most out of my phone by that. What seems to be the problem? Please help me out.

Hello community.

I own a Xperia J and I am extremely frustrated as my phone suddenly lost all of my contacts 3 hours ago. One minute they were there and the other they disappeared. I 've done everything you suggested above about filters and now it shows just my what's app contacts (I don't have another app that uses my contacts) but with the name I used to have saved them.

The thing is that I couldn't imagine this happening so I haven't had a backup in my laptop and all of them were saved in phone's memory and not my sim or sd card because there is not such an option when saving a contact at this model of xperia.

I turned off and on my phone a couple of times.I even charged it just in case it was a permanent battery-related problem.Well it wasn't.

Please tell me if I lost them or I can at least take my phone to a sony store and reappear them.If they're lost then I can't believe that this phone is still on the market since it doesn't function properly since the first month.I 've had it for 1 year and 8 months and the guarantee has expired. Friends of mine who have xperia J have many problems too. It is too soon to have so important disfunctions which make me buy a new phone. Just take the s**t off market already.

I would appreciate if sony experts replied as I consider them responsible. I am so upset and I feel a complete idiot for defending sony mobiles to my friendly environment.
