Hi all, I wanted a set of headphones, not the inside your ear type I don't like those, with a microphone so that I can take calls and listen to music. I bought a set of "Headcandy" over head sit on your ear earphones with a microphone but when I plugged them into the Experia Arc it gave me back a message "device not supported". This really annoying they are just a headset for goodness sake why would they not be supported the connector that you plug in connects to the output sound and input sound through the plug how difficult can it be? Anyway I was wondering if I need an "App" to get them to run correctly or if I have to do something ridiculous like buy only Sony branded over ear headphones with mic. I went onto the Sennhieser website and looked at their earphones and the only ones that they advised using with the Arc were a set with bluetooth connectivity, as well as wired connector if you want to use it, but the cost started at £230 which is simply shocking!:smileyshocked: Does anyone else know how you get other brand headphones with mic to work on the Experia Arc? Regards Douglas

You'll need to look for headphones following OMTP standard. For more information see this thread: http://talk.sonyericsson.com/message/99886#99886

Wow that's really great that you know that and shared it so quickly thanks. Is this essential bit of info in a FAQ somewhere? It should be and they should tell you that in the documentation online or something or that's what the error message about "device not compatible" should include when it pops up eg "device not compatible is it OMTP standard?" But great answer and great support thanks
