Keyboard buttons not working

I'm having a problem with the slide-out keyboard on my Xperia Mini Pro. Most of the buttons on the top row have stopped working, so I can no longer type the following letters: Q E R Y U O. This renders the keyboard useless. They all suddenly stopped working at the same time, so my guess is that its probably software related? I'm running Android 2.1 update 1. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have tried either running the Update again or performing a repair via PC Companion?

After a few weeks of enjoying the use of the keyboard on my Mini Pro again, the problem has resumed - the Q E R Y U O buttons on the top row of the keyboard have stopped working again. In an attempt to repair it I followed the same steps as before:

1. Repairing the phone via PC Companion.

2. Reinstalling the update via the update service.

Unfortunately this time neither method has worked. Perhaps it is a hardware issue, rather than the software? Although repairing the software seemed to solve the problem last time, albeit temporarily. Any suggestions on what to do next would be appreciated!

Hi there

I am experiencing similar problems as ralphile.

When opening the phisical keyboard it lids shorthly until reaching the third row of letters and then light goes off.

The buttons, any of then, do not work.

I am working with Android 2.1 that I guess is the most reacent one.

I made already a "repair" of my system, but it didn't work out.

Any clue of what is wrong?
