unable to use 2G GPRS!

Guys, for the past week i am facing a intermittent connectivity issue in my ray, My GPRS plan is enabled and spoke to the network provider for the settings, but the issue is whenever i turn my gprs on the little arrow mark never comes in the notification bar even if i wait for a couple of minutes nothing happens, so i restarted my phone and GPRS started to work fine and after 15 - 30 minutes the connection drops automatically. Its really a pain because it works only for little time, but not its not conencting anymore. What could be the cause? any suggestions?

Troubleshooting that i have tried?

1. Deleted the APN and manually added new APN by contacting my network provider

2. Restored my phones system settings ( After doing this the internet worked for a day and automatically dropped of, No its not even connecting :smileycry:)

No matter what i do its still the same! Any suggestion will be much appretiated. screenshots below.

do it
settings > wireless and network> mobile networks>network mode > wcdma only
after this restart your mobile

Nabeelraza, i use a 2G connection. WCDMA is 3G right?

no its not 3g, it helps to achieve high speeds whetehr it be 3g or 2g

W-CDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access), this signal increases speed

do it fast and give me the result

Oh got it and tried the same, seems to work now but i am really not sure will it sustain. i will keep it connected for 24 hrs and let you know the status. I really appretiate your effort mate!

It happened again, suddenly the conenction got dropped! All the settings remains the same but the GPRS dropped.

hey

after a long time it breakes, but again recover within moments..... didn't it happen ??

when speed is very low, intensity of the connection decreases , and at some point it may break also ,

your network provider provides you with less speed, thats why you aren't able to connect in gsm mode at all. Though u r able to connect in WCDMA mode, but still ur speed is less, so it breakes,,,
So your device is fine , all settings are fine ..:)...
u were able to get connection for some hours, this means ur settings are ok.. if settings were to be wrong then ur mobile wouldn't have connected even for a second

dude is the symbol being displayed and ur unable to connet to internet ? if so then just turn off data connectivity and switch and airplane mode and switch off airplane mode after couple of seconds then wait for the mobile to catch the signal so first it catches the isgnal and the yellow triangle diaapears after few mibutes again it refreshes means the yellow triangle appers again then when second time disaperasthen connect turn ur data connectivtiy on and try

let me know if it worked

and keep ur setting in wcdma(preff)/gsm mode.

What build number are you running on?

Yes you are somehow right but my connectivity drops only when the yellow triangle appears. So i think my network provider has poor signal strength is that right? Adding to it today morning i kept the data on and its seems to be stable now.

yeah yellow traingle means no network and if happens often then ur gprs wont work propelry
