Sony KD-49XE8004 issues

Hey all

We’ve been having numerous software issues with our Sony KD-49XE8004 and need some help!

last week it started to turn off and on on its own. Seemed like this was a common fault and a hard reset was recommended. We did this through remote (which was hard) and finally got it done but the issues persisted. We then reset a few times using volume buttons and it finally sorted itself out. Each time was a pain as it’s wall mounted

Tonight the tv started muting itself constantly and going on accessibility settings. Whenever we press any button on remote it mutes. I’ve tried to reset remote and tv multiple times but it’s the same.

Really frustrating as we’ve just had it mounted to wall and we’re constantly taking it off and on to try and fix. The white light underneath Sony logo is constantly pulsing. We can’t watch the tv at all now as whether we use tv sound or soundbar it just mutes itself

Absolutely gutted - making us lose faith in Sony products and certainly Sony TVs.

anyone got a fix?

Have you tried downloading the Android TV app to an Android phone or tablet and using the remote control functionality to operate the TV? If that works then it looks like a remote control problem rather than a TV problem.

Hi Jayde1983, I would contact Sony, this TV needs either a remote or a repair .
