    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hey Spacelab01, could you add the model number of your TV? I will post few steps which work in general, if you needthe exact menu steps I can do that if you gave me the model and the software version:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-Home- Settings- Apps YouView/YVservice host- Clear cache and data then force stop both.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-Unplug the TV, remove the aerial, tune without it (normal digital tuning).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-Plug the aerial back, go to YouView in digital setup and press enable Youview, and keep going on with the steps as normal.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-Finally, soft reset the TV (Press and hold the power button on the remote for 5 secs).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Let me know if that worked.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <title>YouView Problem after Jan 2021 firmware updates</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;My almost new KD-55XG went through a firmware update yesterday 18th Jan, 2021. &amp;nbsp;There have been numerous changes to the interface and YouView. &amp;nbsp;The feature I found most useful in YouView was the live tv programme restart function (green button) for BBC channels, that now seems to have disappeared. &amp;nbsp;Has anybody found it? &amp;nbsp;My slightly older KD-49XG has not had a firmware upgrade and the "watch from start" functionality is still available and operational. &amp;nbsp;It's not apparent what, if any, the benefits of the upgrade are.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Additional note. &amp;nbsp;I live in Scotland and the YouView TV guide does not update information for any earlier programmes for any of the Scottish channels, including BBC1 Scot, STV, BBC Scotland, BBC Alba, and hence you cannot directly play the programmes from the YouView guide as you are supposed to be able to.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I’ve just installed the latest v6.5016 update on my KD43-XH8505 today (to fix the UHD on iPlayer not working with soundbar - which it does fix).&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But I also notice the ‘press green to watch from the beginning’ when viewing live TV in the Sony Youview app also works fully too! Because I only bought the TV 3 weeks ago I didn’t realise that was a defect rather than a deficiency! So I’d say that issue is fixed too&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Sadly, the software upgrade to 6.5016 has not resolved any of my problems on my&amp;nbsp;KD-55XG8796.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;(1) The traditional red button functionality still does not work on Digital or on YouView&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;(2) The green button functionality to restart a current programme is missing from YouView&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;(3) There are large masses of "No Information Available" for past programmes in the YouView TV&amp;nbsp;guide for BBC1 Scotland, STV, BBC Scotland, and all of the other Scottish channels, rendering the catch-up functionality completely useless.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Could be down to the different models. &amp;nbsp;Would be interested to hear from anyone else who has a&amp;nbsp;KD-55XG8796 and also has had similar problems.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;No set top box. Direct aerial connection. Started and restarted numerous times.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;Sony UK came back to me by email with some suggestions which I tried and I made some progress. Here are the steps I used (but I have no idea which one or ones contributed to the outcome). They are as per the email from Sony.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1- Clear the Cached data from the TV following the below steps:&lt;BR /&gt;Home - Settings - Device Preferences - Storage - Internal shared storage - Cached data - Clear Cached data. [I did this]&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2- Clear Cached data from YouView and YouView Service Host following the below steps:&lt;BR /&gt;* Home - Settings - Apps - Youview - Clear data - Clear Cache - Force stop. [I did all three of these]&lt;BR /&gt;* Home - Settings - Apps - Yv service host - Clear data - Clear Cache. [Not done. Could not find any such option]&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;3- Do a Soft reset to the TV:&lt;BR /&gt;Home and then press and hold the Power on/off button on the remote control for 5 seconds. [I did this]&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;4- After the TV is on again, press Home - Settings - Watching TV - Channel Setup - Live TV and Catchup - Enable Youview. [Not done, Couldn't find anything like this in the settings]&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I then had to re-log into BBC iPlayer as the settings were deleted in the process.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The results are not perfect but much improved.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you select "Digital" as input, the red and green buttons both work fine.&amp;nbsp;The teletext button does not work. Note that when you've selected &amp;nbsp;"Digital" input, the Programme Guide is "Freeview", so you cant access catchup programmes from that menu..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you select "Catch Up and Live TV" as input, the red and buttons do work, but they are unreliable - If you have already used them, they don't always seem to work again until you change the channel. The guide in this input mode is "YouView" and you CAN access the catchup programmes from this menu. The "No Information Available" problem with the Guide is resolved. The teletext button does not work in this input mode either.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;So, that's certainly some progress. Not 100%, but a lot closer. Note that I had earlier done a full factory reset. I'm not sure if this also contributed to the outcome.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have updated my support call to Sony and will see what happens from there.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi jonesey55 I have seen several posts from people who have either lost or regained the 'green button to play programme from the start' function in YouView. We got our 8505 TV in September and have never had this function - and still don't have it since the firmware update. We too live in Scotland so I was interested to read that you think this might be a factor. I will try your steps in here - other than the factory reset which I just can't face to be honest! We have bought a Manhattan T3-R since getting the TV as a way to reduce our frustrations with the limitations of the Sony Bravia.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi there.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The probem does not seem to be unique to Scotland, except perhaps for the probems I had with the YouView Guide, which could be because of different channel naming vs England.       <description>&lt;P&gt;After a system update on my kdxg85, It came back up tuned to free view, but with no details of which channel you were tuning to, so I went into the usual settings to get youview, and I couldn't find it anywhere, I was ready to reluctantly ring Sony on Monday, but I have found a way of getting you view, I had to go round the houses, but I go into live TV and catch up, and can click on you view from there, but if if I go up or down on the programme selecter on the remote it goes to free view, I now wish I hadn't done the update, but we are told it's better to do it, does anyone know if this is the format now, or will I be able to tune you view the way it used to be.. Thanks.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;They have ruined their televisions with that software update.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I see that Samsung, like Sony are removing access to the BBC text service too.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Absolutely crazy.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;My television used to be so responsive to the remote and when zapping from channel to channel or changing sources. Since the dreaded software update, it has been slow and sluggish. I really hate all the on screen info now.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It's in your face every time you do something. So bloody annoying.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

I have to activate youview guide every morning after tv has been switched off at end of the evening. It's more of a hassle now. I need to find a way of keeping the guide continually active without having to go through the same process each day. Anyone any ideas?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hey Spacelab01, could you add the model number of your TV? I will post few steps which work in general, if you needthe exact menu steps I can do that if you gave me the model and the software version:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-Home- Settings- Apps YouView/YVservice host- Clear cache and data then force stop both.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-Unplug the TV, remove the aerial, tune without it (normal digital tuning).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-Plug the aerial back, go to YouView in digital setup and press enable Youview, and keep going on with the steps as normal.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-Finally, soft reset the TV (Press and hold the power button on the remote for 5 secs).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Let me know if that worked.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi HannahEd01, the tv model is kd 55AF9. For the life of me I cannot find the software version. All it says is that i have the latest version. I have cleared cache and data from an earlier attempt and also ran a soft reset.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I will follow through each step as suggested and see what happens.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The Youview app seems to have been replaced by 'Live TV and Catchup'. This looks exactly like Youview but with a few minor changes.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
