Sony KD-5XE8577 Stuck on Standby

We’ve had an issue for some time now where our TV gets stuck on standby. It will only work if disconnected from the power.
We have done everything, updated software, checked remote (new batteries etc) and still gets stuck on standby.

Hi,

This is a known issue and the engineers are investigating the root cause at the moment.

Should be fixed with a future firmware update.

Hi Peter,

This has being going on over two years now and is clearly a fault in the tv. Very unsatisfactory!

Had this problem a couple of years ago when using a RF mouse. Problem disappeared after removing the RF receiver from the usb port (bought a bluetooth mouse instead)
