Hi all. I cannot get this tv to play anthing smooth. The only thing that works is tv broadcast.

Kodi from tv. Juddery

Kodi from pc. Juddery

Xbox 360. Juddery

Xbox one. Juddery

Ps3. juddery

Ps4. Juddery.

I think you get the idea. It seens not matter what settings i change nothing helps. Turn all the motion flow stuff of and its unusable.

Finely tune every last setting on the dam thing and i still fet a judder every 10 seconds or so.

Ive had it with this tv.

Any ideas?

Hi @rodensony, welcome to the Community.

Can you confirm you have the latest firmware installed?

It would also help to know how you are connecting your external devices, ie. HDMI etc.

Also check whether these playback problems only occur when there are black panels above and below the main image on the screen (such as you see in 16:9 aspect) as this is an issue we have seen reported here in the past.

Finally, have a search through the Community threads, as you may find a variety of related problems and solutions there.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Sorry about the original message did it on my phone.

Yes latest firmware, does not matter if its 16:9 fullscreen or whatever.

I first noticed it while gaming, all of a sudden its like frame drops and judders, mainly when moving from lef to right with fast motion.

everything connecting by hdmi

I have tried changing every setting on my consoles, every setting on the tv. every setting on kodi wether run from the tv or pc.

Only way i can descride it is like the tv is struggling to keep the frames, slow video or movement in games is fine. its as things speed up.

i also find pretty much every picture setting completely useless apart from standard then tuning it.

as for game mode lol, if i want to look at a stuttery colourless picture great, whats that about?

Honestly i have a 10 year old sony in the bedroom thats better than this thing.

Hi Rodensony,

That's very disconcerting! Have you made sure you've got the latest firmware version v5.433? Also, make sure you're using high speed premium HDMI cables and enable enhanced format under Home-settings-external inputs-HDMI signal format and let us know the outcome.

Hi Roden,

That's strange. What are the list of options you get under external inputs-HDMI signal format? I am curious though, have you tried a factory reset? If you didn't, try it and let us know the outcome.

My options are

Manage inputs

BRAVIA Sync settings

Customise Tv key.

Im really trying to avoid a reset. And i will loose all my picture settings and my kodi setup.

Of course i cant back that up because writing to external drives is disabled *****

That's very strange. I've checked this myself on a similar TV and I found the option for the HDMI signal format using the same steps mentioned in the Help Guide: https://helpguide.sony.net/tv/caep1/v1/en/04-09_02.html
